Get fit and have fun at Croyde Beach with friendly and professional instructors, guiding students through the techniques and tactics of this unique beach sport.

Our students receive beach volleyball instruction at fantastic dedicated beach courts from Volleyball England registered coaches who have been themselves tutored by GBR international and National team coach Denise Austin – www.beachvolleyballinc.com/

Students will:

Learn the different skills to play beach Volleyball.
Learn to play in pairs, serving, digging, setting, attacking, blocking and defending.
Receive beach volleyball training from Great Britain’s international and national team coach Denise Austin.
Learn specialist beach volleyball vocabulary.
Improve confidence and teamwork skills.

School description

Our school is the headquarters of Country Cousins and is situated within the green flag award-winning Bicclescombe Park, in the picturesque harbour town of Ilfracombe, North Devon. In the surrounding areas, we enjoy golden sandy beaches perfect for rock-pooling, swimming and surfing, dramatic coastlines, rugged moors and verdant valleys.

We have 14 well-equipped classrooms and provide a high level of teaching and learning using a variety of methods and materials. Channel School of English is open all year round for groups and during Easter and summer for individuals. Our class sizes are an average of 12 students (maximum class is 15) and are mixed nationality wherever possible to increase English speaking opportunities.

Miss Castle lives with 2 children - Jamie (born 2007) who loves video games and playing the drums and Jack (born 2009) who likes football, PlayStation 5, Manchester United and eating candy. As a family they love to visit the beach, swim in the sea, look at the sunset by a fire and paddleboard. They have 2 cats. Mrs Whiskas and Felix. Both love cuddles.
Miss Castle works in the office at Country Cousins school in Welfare and Accommodation, making sure the homestays are nice and welcoming and occasionally teaches at the school.
The Castle family live in a quiet, convenient part of town, very close to Channel School and just a short walk to the town centre. Their home is a comfortable, child-friendly semi-detached house, it is a nicely furnished home with a busy, lively atmosphere. They do not drink alcohol or eat pork products.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
