Located in the Calle de la Marquesa de Almarza, our Spanish School in Salamanca is less than a five-minute walk away from the Plaza Mayor, Salamanca's main square and the heart of the historical center. Built by the Churriguera brothers, the Plaza Mayor, with the Casa Consistorial (Town Hall), is one of the emblematic samples in the city of one of its two most prevalent architectonic styles: the Churrigueresque (the other one is the Plateresque, clearly visible, for instance, in the main facade of the Universidad de Salamanca)

The facility was very modern and always clean. The lounge was a great place for breaks because we all sat and talked, mostly in Spanish! The location was very convenient and easy to find. The teachers were pretty good and it was beneficial to speak in only Spanish; however, sometimes it was necessary to have a translation as it would have helped everyone in the class because we all spoke English (in particular, when to use the different tenses in the past). Also, if we were confused, the teachers would repeat themselves in the same way which obviously didn't help us to understand it. If we don't understand it the first time, how are we supposed to get it from the same exact explanation the second time? Also, I was disappointed with the host family because there was little space for us to put our stuff in, and when we asked for them to clear some drawers they were quite annoyed and only cleared out one for me and my roommate each. Also, I didn't learn Spanish from them because we didn't eat together or do anything together. The meals were very bland and very unhealthy. I moved to a residence which was much better; the owner was very kind, always understanding and if we needed any help she would help us. The room was cool and cleaned very regularly and the bathrooms were also always very clean. I went to Segovia and Avilla, and Toledo on two weekends with the school, and the tour guide was very easy to understand as she spoke slowly and repeated things in different ways so that we understood everything. We also saw a lot in such a little time without feeling rushed. I liked how the different schools mixed together as I made friends with so many people from other schools.
Overall, I loved my trip to Salamanca, especially because all of the staff at Enforex were very kind and always there to help and I learned a lot about the culture and the language.
