The first 4 weeks you'll review all the essential grammar and vocabulary content to solve all the doubts you have and, at the same time, the teachers will show you how the exam is organized.

My personal experience at the language school in Spain was transformative and enriching. Immersing myself in the local culture while learning the language made every moment a learning opportunity. The vibrant streets, the friendly locals, and the rich history of the city added depth to my education. Each day was filled with new discoveries, whether through classroom interactions or spontaneous conversations with natives. The sense of community within the school fostered a supportive learning environment, making it easier to tackle the challenges of language acquisition. Overall, this experience not only enhanced my language skills but also broadened my understanding of Spanish culture.
Show details » Read more...The school is overall very good! The teachers are well-informed on the material they're teaching and support the learning process of every student. The material tought is also well linked, where classes usually start with talking, then we go to theory and finish off with some exercises/writing/a game. Thus, I like the structure of the classes. In addition, the facilities are always clean, the staff are kind and always helpful, the location is also fairly convenient as it is very close to the very city center. Although, I would suggest to try avoiding to swap students in classes and especially teachers. In my experience, once I get to know the other students and the teacher, the classes become a lot more fun, but when they get all of a sudden changed, you can feel that the classes have a different vibe to it and are less engaging. This is my only bigger point of improvement for the school. Other than that, I am very pleased with my experience!

the teacher was really friendly and willing.
the school was really new and good facilities and the location is really in the city center and a nice borough around.
the options for activities were good.
don’t like:
i told them i’m in the wrong level of the language classes and they told me that i have no clue and it was kind of ectremly complicated to change to another class and they were not so friendly or did not understand me. all in all i could not improve my spanisch, because everything i learned in class, i already knew. more speaking would be better for advanced students.
the host was a really friendly person, unfortunately she was not talking a lot and also mostly not at home. all the other things like food, my bedroom and the location in generell were really good.
I only had one lesson as I was not able to make the rest but everting from organising the course to the lesson it self was excellent, thank you . I hope to return.

Discovered many things about Valencia and Spain.
Thé classes was always thé same, no changé from thé beginning to thé end.
Teachers were very and inexpérimented but very patient. Very few students, i think this School is about to close.
No cultural activities, visits or anything else to make thé learning process more fun.
Very cold environment and very behavior from thé staff. I've assisted to other language schools and this one wasn't thé best.
Hi Donald! Thank you so much for you review! :) We're so happy when our students help us to improve our school. And also, we're super surprised about your words! Specially because we saw you enjoying so much our special Christmas activity the last day with some of our students and teachers as well :)
Anyway, our teachers are trying everyday to improve theirselves and they always do their best in order our students will learn as much as they can! And for this reason they are always opened to hear all the proposals or suggestions our students may have, so this is amazing!
Also, about the extra activities you mentioned, we have every two Tuesday an amazing Language Exchange with Pasta night in a nearer restaurant, but it's true that now on winter we're organizing less activities than summer because our students are normally people who is living and working or studying in Valencia and they normally attend lessons in the morning because they are working or studying in the afternoon or viceversa.
But anyway we really appreciate your review and we hope you're enjoying your Christmas time!
Great location in Valencia, and nice facilities. Lessons, while not seeming to follow a super clear path from one to the next, were well presented and informative. We were only able to do two weeks of lessons, but I do feel like if we stayed longer our Spanish would improve tremendously! Teacher was professional and encouraging. I didn't see/hear anything about any of the social activities language schools usually host, but there may be some if you ask. Thanks!

Show details » Read more...El Carmen Spanish school is the best! The teachers are great - very professional, patient and try to create a fun and friendly atmosphere at class. I really enjoy going to Spanish classes and highly recommend this school!
Moreover, the accommodation that the school arranged for me is just perfect!
Nevertheless, I would like to have more social activities through the school - so I can get to know the city and the other students better.
To sum up, I really recommend this school and would like to come to Valencia again and continue my studies there.
Teachers in this school are very friendly and the lessons always are very interesting. You can discover something new every day.
Show details » Read more...We are a family of four people, between the ages of 54-17. Two of us had previous experience with Spanish, two had not. We requested two hour classes for conversation and in four days we all learned a great amount of useful Spanish. I wish we could have stayed longer. The evening courses with sangria, tapas, etc. were also very fun and a good way to learn with the other students. I feel very fortunate to have had this immersion opportunity with the great teacher, Elizabeth, and the staff at El Carmen School.

Show details » Read more...I really enjoyed the teaching at El Carmen. As a teacher myself, I can appreciate the difficulty in teaching small classes. However both teachers were excellent. I enjoyed the first 20 mins of oral skills, and discussion. However at times some of the subject matter I felt was unnecessary for adults; zoo animals for example. Perhaps better suited to children?
I would have liked to do a few more listenings however as I think we only did 2, and only in the second class.
Grammar and vocabulary teaching was excellent.
My main problem was that I was in a class after the break with a beginner and I have more experience of learning Spanish and so that could be very frustrating at times as we went very slowly.
If I had stayed another week I would have liked to get onto learning the subjunctive.
The clase de horchata and pelicula de Volver were excellent activities; thank you.
The accommodation sadly was dirty, very hot (no fan) and the bed was not very clean. In addition, the front door of the building often became stuck/lock broken and we could not open it, even with our key. I called the man in charge who said he would come and fix it, but he didn't. The location was not a problem.
Actually it was an amazing experience that I have spent in this school, I learned a lot of things there, not only language, I learned about the Spanish culture، the Spanish customs and traditions, and how I can live in this country , and the way of teaching all of that was awesome, they teached me by a very funny ,easy and interesting way.
now I have what I need from Spanish language, that allow me to work and to connect with Spanish people.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!
We are so happy to hear your words! For us is so important to pay attention in what our students need to learn and to improve. We will continue working as hard as we can to do our best day by day! Thank you for your words and congratulations!
Well organized classes with much to review and talk.

Everything about our experience was wonderful. Valencia as a city is beautiful. The centre of the city is magical and a wonderful spot to absorb Spanish culture. El Carmen is located right in the heart of all that culture. My partner and I took classes together and my kids took classes together but separate from us. We all were so impressed with them that we have continued lessons for our kids via Skype! Everyone is extremely kind and supportive. Learning a language can be daunting but the team there make it so fun. We highly recommend El Carmen!

It was all very good, Elisabeth is an excellent teacher and the school is well-located. It was a bit annoying that sometimes class would be cancelled because of too few students, but that was also a trade off of for having very small classes which was much better in the long run.
There weren't many activities while I was there and I would have liked there to be maybe an evening social gathering or something like that. The other weak point was housing which I tried to take advantage of, but the school wasn't offering anything suitable at the time I was there so I had to find my own housing which was a bit difficult at times.
Thank you so much for your sincere review. As you said, the point of having small classes sometimes could be this and we're so sorry about, on the other hand, as you said this same point is so good in order to have an excellent atmosphere for learning languages. And about the accommodation, we will keep working on it! Thank you so much and we hope to hear from you soon!
Beautiful school with super nice people, I love the experience during the study in Valencia, this amazing school helped me a lot. i am so lucky to be with them. And i will continue study here, it is the best.

Easily the best school in Valencia and in the historical centre of El Carmen. Completely personal experience without any of the commerciality of other schools. Made our best friends of Valencia in the school and would recommend to everyone!

The classes of Spanish are very well organised, the teachers are very knowledgeable and very kind, facilities are great and the location is perfect. There are also a lot of culture related activities which are very interesting and entertaining where you learn how to prepare drinks like 'sangria', or 'horchata' and others that include a visit to historical monuments in Valencia and the visit to the museums.
I couldn't have asked for more, it's a unique experience.
We're so happy to hear you like your experience at El Carmen! Thank you for your amazing words and we will be glad to see you again learning Spanish with us!
