Spanish Institute for Global Education
At Spanish Institute, education is our passion – and we take special care of our courses for teachers, as we love to share and spread knowledge in the global classroom of Seville. With that in mind, we proudly present a course that Spanish Institute for Global Education has offered for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language for more than 20 years! Come to Spain and enrich your teaching and your life while sharing the experience with teachers from all over the world.
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
OBJECTIVES
This course aims to offer an experience of inspiration, renewal, and reflection for ELE teachers who seek to deepen their learning of Spanish as a Foreign Language. It’s about addressing pedagogical proposals based on new neuroscience studies, and on methodological views that facilitate effective language acquisition. In this way, teachers will be able to bring brain-friendly lessons to the classroom, promoting profound and effective learning.
METHODOLOGY
The course enhances the idea of active learning, consistent with the methodological principles that it tries to boost. Together with theoretical approaches, teacher-participants will live the pedagogical experience of “learning by doing.” They will use the cooperative method, create a final task, develop assessment instruments, and handle many materials to use in their classes. Additionally, they will address complex grammatical questions, become familiar with both the vocabulary and way of life of Spain, and practice techniques to get their students speaking Spanish fluently.
CONTENTS
Our course content responds to a natural approach to learning a second language, including:
1. Learning with the ears, the strength of oral input.
2. Making language visible.
3. Fluency as a linguistic goal from the beginning.
4. Cooperative learning, promoting participation by creating a brain-friendly environment.
5. Questions that promote critical thinking.
6. Implicit grammar, consistent support for language structure.
7. Task-based learning, a space for growth that is supported by the “real” use of language.
8. Evaluation of competences, abilities, and skills, beyond examination.
Following these principles, we provide our ELE teachers with a multitude of resources and tools they can take directly to their classes. The course methodology is practical, based on a scientific and updated approach to language acquisition.

What Makes Us Different
One of the most important features that characterizes us is our personal attention every step of the way. From the moment you decide to come to Seville, to your arrival at the airport and during your stay, we will make sure you feel at home.
Another essential feature is that we work with an effective learning methodology that promotes fluency from the beginning. In fact, we offer training for teachers who teach Spanish as a foreign language in many countries.
In addition to language, we want to share our culture and history, our way of life to strengthen ties and promote understanding between different cultures.
One more feature to highlight is the quality from a human and professional point of view of our programs.

The group classes were fun, and the private lessons are where I learned the most about grammar. The teachers and staff were always welcoming and had smiles on their faces. The facilitates are clean and bright and there is wifi... The activities were fantastic, with tours of the Cathedral, La Plaza de España, the Cathedral of Seville ("Catedral de Santa María de la Sede"), travel to Grenada and Ronda and various art museums and palaces. The housing was acceptable. Accommodations are sometimes sometimes at distance from the school, which causes some logistical issues. I had difficulty keeping up in one class for a number of reasons, but the school accommodated my educational needs.
