"The best experience of learning English"

ROBERTO EMANUELE DE FELICE, student from Italy

I significantly improved my English thanks to the school method and its teachers. Furthermore, its location makes my stay in Boston very pleasant. Beacon Hill is a wonderful district.

"My experience was really good."

Filippo Catalano, student from Italy

When I arrived I was given the keys of my room, which was very big and comfortable. The next day all the needed information was given to me and then the classes started. Our teacher made sure the lessons were never boring, but diversified and entertaining. On the other hand most students didn't respect the rules and kept speaking their native language even if it's wasn't allowed.

"The most productive learning experience of my life."

Ivan David Bustamante Jimenez

I liked everything at Kings. You guys are awesome.

As some advice, I have two points for you:

1) Give more importance to the moment when the students leave Kings. I mean, it would be great have a kind of "ceremony" for those students who are leaving, not just give away the diploma and that's it, which is what is currently happening. The learning process and the beautiful experience both deserve a better way of saying goodbye.

2) Differentiate and manage the groups according to the age of the students. Kids and adults don't have the same goal when going to study English in another country.

"A great experience for my life."

Veronica Rivera

My experience at Kings Boson was amazing. I really loved my trip. Since the beginning all the staff were always there when I had questions or needed any help. Boston is a beautiful city and you always have something to do there. But maybe the most important thing about my trip was all the people from other countries that I met. To share things with people from other cultures taught me about habits and interesting things that I didn't know. About my homestay, well, I think that is one of the best parts because I could speak in English all the time and the family was amazing. I really loved staying with them. Finally, the only thing that I didn't like was that there were many people from my country (Colombia) and I was expecting not to be with people who talked my language. But in conclusion, I will never forget all the people that I met and all the experiences that I lived in Boston because they have touched my life.

"One of the best experiences a person should have."

Eugenio Fico

Rooms are comfortable, teachers and all staff are brilliant. They always help you with everything. Also, meeting people from all over the world makes you feel better. That's why I've been there two times.

"Overall the best experience of my life, but there's still a lot that Kings Boston has to work on!"

Maria Sonkka

I liked most of my classes, but not one of my teachers. I had been complaining since the first month that I was there, but nothing really happened until 4 months later. I was NOT the only one complaining, but because of the personal relationship between the boss and the employee, nothing happened. Kings Boston needs to listen to our feedback more than they normally do; the students are your costumers and you always need to make sure that they are happy! The staff also has to tell the students what's going on. There was a situation when one of the students' favorite teachers "decided to leave" all of a sudden. We all got very sad because he left us without saying goodbye, and then we heard that he was fired. The students were very angry about this, and we all wrote down our signature on a piece of paper that said that we wanted him back.

I got called into the office to talk with the head director when she saw my name. I got my explanation, and I could then understand why he was fired, but none of the other students ever did. I gave her advice to go to each class handled by the fired teacher, to tell them all about what happened, but Kings Boston never did. I think it's very wrong, and that makes me think if they care about the students at all.

Apart from that, I liked my 6 months at Kings College. I liked most of my classes, and the way that they taught me. I also liked my housing, and all the activities that happened on campus.

"Boston changed my life."

Tatiana Castillo

I really had a great time there. I miss those days of just fun and happiness. I had the opportunity to meet people from different nationalities. I even keep in touch with some of them and I'm planning to go and visit them, or I'm inviting others to come and visit my beautiful country. (For example, we had the pleasure to have Amanda in Bogotá!)
I think Kings is not a perfect school, but we need to be realistic and know that in a different country, far from our houses and families, and with a lot of expectations it's hard to find everything wonderful. Of course I complained about some teachers because my parents paid a lot of money to have me there learning and some classes I felt were a waste of time. In the end I knew that it's not just your teachers, and it's not only you. It's a combination. If you have a great teacher and you are a good student the money will be totally worth it! Although, learning is not the only part you enjoy in Boston. For me it was a new experience travelling alone, living alone, meeting people from countries really far from mine.
It's a combination, it's the whole experience that changed my life, changed my point of view. Things started to have more value, my family, my teachers and friends in Boston started to become my Boston family. So, I was complaining there but now I just keep the good memories, the knowledge that I gained there.
Kings could do it better, we always could do it better. You can find better and qualified teachers, you can improve every day. You can help students socialize, make them share time with people who don't share the same language.

Anyway a great experience. I have good memories of my time there, and I will definitely recommend it. Maybe if I were in another school I would say similar things, I don't know, I just know that people there supported me and made me more confident about my skills.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $125 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
