When can I arrive?

You should arrive on the Saturday or Sunday before your course starts.
You should depart on the Saturday or Sunday after your course finishes.
You should inform the school of your date of travel as soon as possible. No later than 2 weeks before your date of travel.
During the summer term (see school calendar) students must:
arrive on a Sunday
depart on Saturday or Sunday

What if I have a special diet?

On the enrolment form inform the school of any dietary requirements you might have. This information is important to help the Accommodation Team select the most appropriate homestay provider.
An extra fee (£20 per week) will apply.
What if I have an allergy?

On the enrolment form inform the school of any allergies you might have. This information is important to help the Accommodation Team select the most appropriate homestay provider.

Maybe other students from Capital School of English (up to 3 adults, or 4 Under 18s).
Many homestay providers in England have pets. They are often considered part of the family. We can only guarantee a student is placed in a homestay provider without pets if a medical certificate detailing the reason as to why you are unable to be accommodated in a family with pets is provided to the school in advance.
Can I change my homestay accommodation?

Only under special circumstances.
You must give a minimum of one week’s notice to the Accommodation Team.
A £50 charge will apply in order to find a new Homestay Provider.

How are the homestay providers monitored?

The Accommodation Team monitor the quality of service provided on a regular basis.
Learners are encouraged to discuss any accommodation concerns with the homestay provider or Accommodation Team.

How much does the accommodation cost?

Fees will vary according to the choice of accommodation and the time of the year.
If you are planning to stay with your homestay provider over the Christmas and New Year season please note an additional fee will apply.

During the Summer Term (27th June – 26th August 2016) in cooperation with the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), adult students (18+) at Capital School of English can stay at the international student residence located in Bournemouth town centre. Staying in a residence is a great way to meet other students studying at the school while living independently.

Facilities available:

• Private single en-suite rooms • Self-catering • 24 hour security • Town centre location • Duvet, duvet covers, bed sheet and pillow case provided • Communal kitchens (basic supply of cooking utensils and cutlery) • Communal seating area with TV and Foosball Table • Laundry facilities (charges will apply) • Weekly cleaning service (included for communal areas only – students are responsible for their own rooms) • Wi-Fi access available throughout the residence.

Booking Details:

The summer is an incredibly busy time and the accommodation is available on a first come first served basis.

Arrival and Departure Details:

All Students choosing residential accommodation must arrive on a Sunday (only) and depart on a Saturday or Sunday (Please note that if you leave on a Saturday weekly fees remain the same)
All rooms are cleaned and serviced on a Sunday
Check in at 3 pm Sunday
Check out at 10 am Sunday
You will receive your own door key for the residence and your own room key
visa

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 70 when you register.
