Course description

Camp for teenagers aged 11-17 years, interested in improving their level of English language in an ideal holiday destination like Alicante and having fun doing sports or artistic/cultural activities together with boys and girls of the same age from different countries.

The main objective of this camp is that our participants have a great time, while they learn English and enrich themselves by socialising with young people from other countries.

The participants have 4 hours of English lessons every morning, from Monday to Friday. Afterwards they join with the teens from our Spanish camp to have lunch and spend the rest of day together. In the afternoon, they’ll enjoy doing sports, theatre workshops, choreographic dance or plastic arts, among other activities.

Alicante has a fantastic Mediterranean climate and the Summer average temperature is 30ºC. For this reason, our campers will enjoy the beach and the swimming pool very much. Furthermore, at the weekends, they will do funny and interesting excursions to the best places in the province.

They are permanently accompanied by 24 hours-counsellors, who are taking good care of them and safeguarding their safety. The ratio is 1 counsellor for 10 participants.

Every activity aims at promoting the interrelation between all campers, guaranteeing the cross-cultural communication and avoiding the separate groups per nationality.

CAMP LOCATION
This camp is located in Alicante, to be exact, in the surroundings of the University of Alicante.

The close distance to the university campus (at 100 metres), to the beach (at 15 km) and to the airport (at 15 km) makes this place a strategic location, very well connected with other cities and countries.

ACCOMMODATION
The accommodation is in a cosy university residence and every participant has his own single room with shower room.

We also have double rooms (with bunk bed), but their availability must be confirmed in advance by the Camps Organisation.

MEALS
The total price includes full board: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals are homemade and varied, mainly Spanish cuisine. In this way, we improve the cultural experience of our foreign participants and we provide them with a gastronomic immersion.

We also offer special menus for diabetics, gluten and other food intolerants, allergics…

SCHEDULE

IN THE MORNING
4 hours a day of English lessons. From Monday to Friday. With native teachers, highly-qualified and with experience in teaching English language.

Participants must make a language test before they travel to the camp, in order to determine their attendance to any of our 3 language levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced.

In the first half of the morning, they learn more theory contents (grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, orthography, writing, reading, dictations…) and in the second half, a different teacher will make them learn with more practical and playful activities (didactic games, conversation, roll-play…).

Our classrooms are located at 50 metres from the residence and are fully equipped with audio-visual technology.

IN THE AFTERNOON
From 4 pm to 8 pm, our participants will attend the classes of one of these 2 activity categories, previously chosen by them:

MULTI-SPORTS CAMP: 4 hours a day (2 different sports per day) for practising football, beach and indoor volleyball, tennis, paddle tennis, rugby, flag football, climbing on rock wall, handball, athletics, field and indoor hockey…

ARTS&CULTURE CAMP: 4 hours a day (2 different activities per day) where our participants will prepare the performance of a theatre-musical by means of these disciplines:

Theatre: theatre performing techniques, body movements, small texts memorization, Spanish and English songs...
Choreographic dance: they'll prepare the dances for the musical.
Handicrafts: they will make their own "attrezzo" (clothing and stage decoration).

On Friday afternoon, they do a cultural visit to a close place like Alicante city centre, Elche… or they do a fun activity like campus gymkhana, bowling, paintball, shopping…

WEEKENDS
Excursions to the most interesting places of Alicante province (Benidorm, “Terra Mítica” amusement park, “Aqualandia” water park, Guadalest, Altea, Tabarca island…).

We take advantage of the wonderful weather of Alicante and enjoy its fantastic sand beaches, where our teens will have fun playing beach volleyball or practising water sports such as surfing, kayaking, SUP surfing…
