Course description

FLY Junior's summer language program offers a trilingual language experience. Located in the center of Montreal, Brébeuf is a leading French private high school. The campus, situated on Mount Royal, is only 10 minutes away from the heart of the city. In this program, students will experience the culture of Quebec and come to know the "joie de vivre" of Montreal.

Students will receive 15 hours of French, English, or Spanish lessons and workshops per week. Instruction is student-centered and based on a communicative approach with the aid of state-of-the-art materials. Our teachers are native speakers of French, English and Spanish and have formal training in second language teaching.

Our unique FLY Junior program offers a wide range of sports and socio-cultural activities as an important part of its curriculum. The program's free* activities will take place during afternoons, evenings and weekends, under the supervision of dynamic and dedicated counselors. The complete FLY curriculum also includes special afternoon workshops. Each week, students will register for 5 hours of extra instruction. However, instead of a formal language lesson, students will participate in a truly enriching and challenging project in one of the following workshops:
• Swimming: This workshop consists of daily swimming lessons at an olympic pool and sports complex.
• Multisports: Every multisports workshop period is dedicated to a different activity (i.e. ice hockey, baseball, tennis, soccer, etc.)
• Arts: This specific workshop includes 3 different artistic projects per week with a different theme each lesson and is designed to give students a basic knowledge of drawing, painting and sculpting.
• Multimedia: This workshop is designed to give students a basic knowledge of the elements of computers and software. It also provides them with a chance to know more about photo and film editing.
• Dance: The dance workshop includes 3 technical lessons per week (Ballet, Hip Hop, Salsa, etc.)
• Intensive tennis ($$$): The tennis workshop includes 2 professional semi-private lessons + 1 complete supervised game per week.
*Extra fees apply for the tennis workshop only. Students can change their workshop selection from one week to the other.

FLY Junior offers day trips every week to give our students the chance to visit all the main attractions of our wonderful city. We truly believe that by participating in such outings, students will be better equipped to speak about different aspects of Canada's particular cultural and geographical landscapes. The excursions planned for next summer are:
Week 1: 2 days in Quebec City including Wendake Village, Musée du Fort and city tour
Week 2: Day trip to the Olympic Stadium, Botanical Garden and Biodome

Week 3: Day trip to Old Montreal including Science Center, dance cruise and the Basilica
Week 4: Day trip to Mont-Tremblant including alpine sledding, hiking and dinner at the beach

Week 5: Day trip to Ottawa City including a visit to the Canadian Parliament, museums and the Rideau Channel
