Course description

The General English course is for students at any English levels who want to maximize their language learning practice during their stay.

Afternoon lessons concentrate on spoken skills, conversation and discussion activities. Games, tapes, videos and DVDs are used as well as situational activities. Speaking, speaking and more speaking!

Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunities in a comfortable environment to learn more about the local culture and to practice English in everyday situations. These homes are often between 15-50 minutes away from the school by bus. Families usually offer you affordable meals and having meals together is a wonderful opportunity to talk about your day, your country, your culture etc. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance.

Language Schools New Zealand, Queenstown Student House is offered to our students who prefer independent living. This is a great place to make friends, continue your English practice and enjoy life.
The house is limited to students over the age of 18.
Rooms are on a share and single room basis and where possible students from different cultures are placed so that they have to speak English together.
When you are taken to the accommodation you will receive your keys, a set of sheets, pillow cases, a duvet and a pillow for your bed.
Students pay a $300 deposit and receive $265 back when they leave providing they return the keys and bedding, the room is clean and no damage has been done.
Facilities in our modern Queenstown student house include: Full kitchen with utensils, plates and cooking equipment, fridge, pantry, bench-top cooker, oven and microwave. There is also a free to use washing machine, a clothes dryer ($2) garden and a great view. There are six bedrooms, (3 single, 2 share and 1 en-suite), 3 bathroom and a studio.
The house is located at 8 Avalon Crescent, a short bus ride or a 30 minute walk to the centre of town and the Language School.
The cost includes internet and use of all facilities.Please note that electricity is not included in the accommodation fees and students must pay for it weekly based on actual usage. You need to buy your own food and help with cleaning.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.

Flights and airport transfer

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Queenstown based on your budget, schedule and preferences.

Travel insurance
