Group classes are ideal for those who have limited time during the week to attend language courses.
Czech Courses offers courses ranging from A1, designed for new beginners, to B2, targeted for those with advanced experience with the Czech language.
Group classes are dynamic and active and intended to help participants become more effective when communicating in Czech.
The course uses a flexible approach in which a teacher can vary their principals based on the group's needs.
The coursework focuses on comprehension of spoken and written Czech and improving pronunciation.
Participants get homework and other exercises to complete outside of class. Courses are taught in a way that gives students the opportunity to improve their speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills by working in groups as well as individually.
The intensive courses are aimed at those who need quickly and effectively study the basics of the Czech language as well as gain an insight into the Czech culture and traditions.
The course's schedule span from 10 days up to 2 months. During this time, you will get an introduction to Czech everyday life and language, its grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

Our language studio, Czech Courses, was founded in 2011 to offer a wide range of Czech language courses for foreigners. Students can choose from individual courses, regular twice-a-week courses or intensive courses running for 14 days up to 1 month. Our students can enjoy our cozy and friendly place right in the centre of Prague. We know that the Czech classes have to be fun, effective and led by professionals, but also very flexible, allowing our students to start their courses whenever they had time to do so, and register for the duration of their choosing.
We are:
✓Accessible
You will find us right in the Prague city centre in our new classrooms at Vinohradská 18, a three minute walk from Muzeum metro station and right next to the Italská tram stop.
✓Flexible
We run a flexible month-by-month Czech language programme, with extra discounts for those who sign up in advance for three months or more. Though we have a wide range of courses starting from 7AM to 7.30PM, these still might not fit your schedule. Just let us know - together we'll find the best solution for you. Not sure which course is most suitable for you? Never mind; come by for a trial lesson!
✓Fun with family-size classes
We think that you’ll learn the most if you enjoy what you do. Our open, interactive and energising Czech lessons just won't let you take a nap. The maximum size of a regular class is 7 students. We have managed to build a stable team of enthusiastic tutors, who are constantly sharing new ideas through regular creative workshops to keep their lessons juicy and fun.

I was put in a level slightly higher than what I applied to and it was easy to catch up. Being in small groups helped not being lost and the teacher could make sure everyone was following. I saw immediate progress.
I didn't see activities though. Only minus point: the price of the books which are obligatory.
Overall, I had a positive experience with Czech Courses during the Summer of 2023.
The teaching staff is excellent, and resources and support are readily available from the office. Location is also a major benefit, as I took classes in Vinohrady and there was a convenient tram stop right outside the front door of the school. It is easily accessible from any place in Prague.
The cost of the courses is also quite reasonable for what you receive. If you are prepared to engage, attend every class, participate, and keep up with homework assignments, you will find this to be a very good investment in becoming conversational with Czech and also learning more about the culture and experiences available in Prague.
My only concern relates to how students are placed in classes. From my experience, there were students in the class who were clearly beyond the level of instruction, and some of them said they had already passed more advanced government language exams for visa and residency requirements. This can be problematic for students who are newer to the language and at the low end for skills in the level of class in which they are placed. In my case, it also seemed to result in the teacher speaking more rapidly and at a more fluent level than some students (including myself) were able to process effectively. One area of improvement for the school could therefore be to offer courses such as "new intermediate" and "review intermediate" so that students within the same classes are more closely aligned in terms of their language skills and capabilities.
In general, however, I highly recommend Czech Courses to anyone who wants an intensive and very applicable way of immersing themselves into the language. I found myself speaking Czech in shops and around the city soon after I started the course, so it is very practical as well as challenging.
I liked that we were a small group. My teacher was very nice and also the students. We had a lot of fun in class and we learned a lot.
The location was perfect, after school I could do some sight-seeing in Prague.
The activities in school were also very good and everyone had a lot of fun.
I liked everything in school.
I would have chosen a bigger classroom and there were a couple of people whose Czech level was a little worse, but overall the course was well structured and the Teacher Julie was always sweet and ready to help us

Show details » Read more...I’ve been there for 2 months, and learned a lot. Teachers are very friendly. Especially Martina, she’s so patient and kind. The way we learned was by playing games which was relaxing and exciting. And you can also have a lot of chances to practice the speaking skill.
Thank you Czech Courses :)
That was really amazing. Friendly tutors, atmosphere like at home, I felt comfortable and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this course! Thanks everybody for helping me to improve my Czech language.
