The Intensive International Foundation Programme (IFP) has been specifically designed for international students who want to study for an undergraduate degree but do not have British A-level qualifications.
Students will have completed their secondary school education in their own country and are looking for a programme that will provide them with the English language skills and knowledge to embark upon undergraduate study at an overseas university. The programmes involves a significant amount of English language teaching.
This is accredited by NCC Education and is an Ofqual regulated qualification.
Entry requirements (IFP):
Start September -
A minimum overall grade of IELTS 4.5 or equivalent or take our test.
PLUS evidence of a successfully completed secondary school education in an appropriate range of subjects.
Pathway to IFP
If you do not currently have IELTS 4.5 you can start an English language programme with MDA College at any time, prior to commencing your IFP. We enrol new students every week.
Guaranteed entry routes
On successful completion of your Foundation Programme you are guaranteed entry to one of the following universities: Plymouth University, Bristol Metropolitan University (UK) Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK), University of South Wales (UK), Bangor University (UK), Birmingham City University (UK), University Centre Croydon (UK), University of Chester (UK).
Standard entry routes
Over 50 standard entry routes to universities in the UK, Australia, Canada and the USA including Aston University (UK), University of Leeds (UK), University of Nottingham (UK), and the University of York (UK).
Visas (No IELTS required)
Commencing every September you will need to apply for a 11 month Short-term Study Visa The first part of the IFP Programme is focused on English Language only.

The nationality and age mix at MDA College varies over different time periods, courses and levels. Throughout the year, the average age is 23. In the summer, the average age is 20.

MDA does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.
MDA College is based at York House, in a quiet student area of Leeds. There is plenty of student accommodation, shops and restaurants near to the college.
Leeds city centre is about a 10 minute walk away, where you can find the main shopping and social areas in Leeds.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Leeds. These homes are often between 25 - 50 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 18+. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from MDA. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.
If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 10 when you register.
