Langley School District
The Langley School District showcases a vast range of traditional academic studies, world-class fine arts programs and has graduated numerous internationally trained athletes. Home to elementary, middle and secondary schools, the seven student-centred secondary schools have educated thousands of global citizens over the past twenty-five years. Value-Added Programs also include English language assessment and support for International Students and their families, career counseling, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate Program (IB), fine arts, fundamental orientation, sports and extra-curricular activities, First-Nations studies, summer programs, sensitivity training and more. The District of Langley consists of the Township of Langley, Langley City, Aldergrove, and Fort Langley, and is home to BC’s own Langley Fine Arts School.
Langley offers the choice of Semester (4 subjects ½ year x 2) or Linear (8 subjects all year) programs. In British Columbia, students normally complete eight courses per year. In a Semester school, students complete four courses from September to January, then another four from February to June. In a Linear school, students begin all eight courses in September and complete them in June. This accommodates all student choices regarding linear and semester schools. Both systems provide an excellent learning experience.
