Fort Worth, referred to by locals as "Cowtown," is a premiere destination in Texas for anyone looking to experience the cowboy spirit of the Wild West. Once a favorite haunt of rowdy outlaws, Fort Worth is now a Western historical wonderland. Eat some ribs and line dance to country music while you walk through Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, a shopping and dining area designed to look just like it did back in the olden days when Fort Worth was still called "Hell's Half Acre." While you may not be able to witness a shootout at the saloon anymore, visitors can still learn a thing or two about how cowboys survived and developed their famous Texas lifestyle. The Log Cabin Village, a collection of six restored cabins from the 1800s that were painstakingly relocated to Fort Worth, provides a great opportunity to practice your English while chatting with historical re-enactors about life on the frontier. For a classic rodeo experience, look no further than the historic Cowtown Coliseum. Students attending an English school in Fort Worth that are more interested in the softer side of the city will fall in love with the arts community, which includes the traditional Kimbell Art Museum and the more contemporary Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. You can also escape the hustle-and-bustle of city life by taking a stroll though the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and its accompanying Japanese Garden.
TLC’s academic Intensive English Program is carefully designed to help you achieve your language learning goals. The full-time Intensive English program meets Monday through Friday.
