Ottawa is the capital of Canada, and lies on the banks of the Ottawa River, which divides the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. It is arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with a combination of gorgeous architecture and natural beauty. Although English is the first language spoken in Ontario, the city is bilingual, with French being the second most spoken language. Ottawa is home to the Parliament of Canada, which resides on Parliament Hill, the main center of government and the location of some of the most breathtaking works of Gothic architecture in the city. Over 3 million tourists visit Parliament Hill ever year. Student at an English school in Ottawa can explore tons of museums- 29 in total! And if the weather affords it, a trip through the Rideau Canal (usually accessible during the months of May through October) is one of the most incredible ways to experience the cities of Ottawa and Kingston which are connected by the waterway. Taking English courses in Ottawa is a great way to explore a bilingual culture with lots of history and plenty of activities to enjoy around the city.
