The port city of Genoa is one of Italy’s biggest towns. Famous for its narrow alleyways, also called ‘carruggi’, this hilly city has virtually no flat land. Students enrolled in Italian school in Genoa might enjoy visiting the Old Harbour (Porto Antico) which has been transformed into a mall. The area is also home to the Acquaro di Genova, Europe’s largest aquarium. This important seaport has played a large role in Italy’s history. Home to Europe’s largest old town, students will enjoy the local baroque architecture, the many palaces, beautiful hanging gardens and quaint shopping areas. Students taking Italian courses in Genoa will enjoy strolling in the many parks in the city, or might enjoy a round of golf at one of the nearby courses. Be sure to stop by the Lanterna lighthouse and climb the 375 steps to experience the spectacular views. Forte Sperone is another popular spot to visit, especially in the summer when it plays host a variety of theater performances and other shows. Genoa has a reputation of being a city of art and culture with multiple galleries and museums offering a variety of unique works. The Museo Palazzo Rosso or Red Palace is one of the galleries housing an extensive collection of sculptures, paintings and more. This former palace, built in the 17th century also houses and interesting photographic archive. The city also offers a great range of restaurants, with seafood playing a major part of many of their menus. With its beautiful shoreline, charming old town, variety of historic sites and more, students might find that Genoa offers the best of everything Italian.

The "Italiano Facile" language course is recommended for students who already studied the Italian language (minimum level required A2) and it is the ideal choice for those who, perhaps often, live in Italy and cannot follow a more intensive course.
