The Tuscan city of Pisa is located in Central Italy. It is the capital city of the Province of Pisa. This city, with its history dating back to approximately 1000 BC, was once an important naval base. Students enrolled in Italian school in Pisa are surely aware of the famous leaning tower, but may not be aware that this city also is the home to many other historical sites. Adjacent to the Leaning Tower, be sure to visit Pisa’s cathedral and Baptistery, both beautiful architecturally, inside and out. The National Museum of St. Matthew houses an impressive collection of painting from the 12th and 18th centuries, as well as a variety of sculptures. For those wanting to get a great view of the entire city, try visiting the lesser known Old Citadel and Guelph Tower. Pisa is located at the junction of two rivers, the Arno and the Serchio. It is truly a university town, with a high population of students. Students taking Italian courses in Pisa will enjoy exploring its medieval center to enjoy the various restaurants, but might also enjoy shopping at its unique vegetable market. Visitors might also enjoy a stroll through the oldest botanic garden in Europe, or one of Pisa’s many other parks and gardens. Students visiting Pisa can expect to experience a Mediterranean climate, meaning hot humid summers and rainy winters. While in Pisa, students can enjoy the famous Tuscan cuisine, shop on Borgo Stretto with its chic boutiques, or people watch in one of Pisa’s lovely squares.
The Intensive course is for students who want to maximize their language learning practice during their stay. The courses focus heavily on speaking and communication skills: the morning consists of 4 group lessons in communication skills,where students are also asked to practice specific gramnar items in a passive and productive way to to enhance their effectiveness in using the language.
Group lessons: 45 minutes each
Individual lessons: 60 minutes each.
This course is designed for those who wish to complete a specific course of study in a short time, but prefer only one hour of lessons in the afternoon.

Apply what you have learnt during your lessons, practice your language skills through varied activities such as cooking, mini-golf, shopping, bowling, cinema, board games, sightseeing, etc….with your host.
It is the most effective way to make rapid progress: you live with your teacher who will give you private language lessons and correct you at all times spent with them. It completely immerses you in the language you are learning as you put into practice what you have learnt during your lessons through social interactions and meal time with your host.
