Located on the westernmost tip of Europe, Portugal was a global powerhouse in the 14th and 15th centuries, when its empire spanned from the Americas to Asia. Nowadays, by no means the global giants that they once were, Portugal still maintains a reputation as a stable democracy and fast-growing economy. Although Portugal shares the Iberian Peninsula with its bigger counterpart, Spain, it has an entirely unique culture and language. Its coasts are covered with sandy beaches while its towns range from quaint fishing villages to the cosmopolitan cities of Lisbon and Aveiro. Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city, has experienced a renaissance in recent years; making it a cosmopolitan city featuring things like contemporary art exhibits in museums and subways. Yet Lisbon still embraces its beautiful reminders of the past as well, like Jeronimos Monastery and Belem Tower. Those interested in taking Portuguese courses in Portugal will find the history deep, the backdrop enchanting, and the visit truly memorable.
Individual lessons are organised according to the students' specific requests and time availability and may include different professional and cultural themes, if requested. They can be a complement of the General Group courses (see Combined Courses), or a faster way of learning the language.

With 3 hours of lessons every day, an extra (optional) hour of computer study daily, and a reduced number of participants (an average of just 4 or 5 students) the inlingua mini-group intensive courses ensure that you will make quick progress with your Portuguese.
We invite you also to take part in the social activities that are organised for your course.
Individual lessons are the most efficient way to learn a language. You will have the exclusive attention of your teachers and the whole lesson will be dedicated to your specific needs.
In the intensive course, students will have the opportunity to rapidly acquire and develop the four aspects of language learning: comprehension, oral and written production, communicative and interactive skills. Students are encouraged to take an active, systematic approach to grammar and to use it in a natural, communicative way.
