"Nice teachers, nice staff everything very family would do it again directly! I can only recommend it"

Leila Choumani, student from Germany

Everything is great, the address on the page is unfortunately not up to date. All in all, a very good school with competent staff and teachers absolutely to be recommended!

"Serious institution and very attentive to candidate request"

Wilfrid Hounton, student from UK

I've asked for an unusual split of my training and it was accommodated very well with two teachers who did an absolutely fantastic job in getting me where I was expecting to get to (in fact the outcome went beyond my expectations). Very grateful to Amina and Walid without forgetting Ayoub for organising

"My week of classes went very well; the teacher was very nice and I learned more than I expected."

Myriam Buyst, student from Afghanistan

Everything went well, the teacher was very friendly. The school atmosphere was very nice. The school is relatively small and is now located in the centre of Rabat but has been very difficult to find.

"Amazing!"

Mohammed AMJAD, student from UK

The overall experience was amazing, great teachers and great classes. I have learnt more then i expected to learn.

Location was great, currently there are not that many facilities at the school with the current location. However i believe this will be changing. They provide trips to different cities which look absolutely amazing.

"Everything we had hoped for."

Patricia Myers-Hayer, student from USA

My sister and I attended Ahlan Morocco for a month and took darijah (Moroccan colloquial Arabic) classes. The teacher was outstanding,- knowledgeable, interesting and flexible. Ahlan Morocco was very accommodating if we had questions or any problems with the living arrangements. They immediately addressed whatever concerns we had. The housing was a bit of a hike for us but we managed by walking one way and taking a taxi back home at the end of the classes.

Nevertheless, we liked the location of the housing although taxi drivers weren't able to find it. We just used well-known landmarks nearby to get us close. We liked the classroom facilities until they had to move temporarily. The temporary location wasn't as nice but it was temporary.

We felt we more than got our money's worth and also used the experience to travel to other locations in Morocco for the weekends. Everybody was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a wonderful experience!

"Not that organized."

Courtney Johnson, student from USA

I loved my teacher but the teaching wasn't always the most helpful. I found myself becoming more and confused every day. The structure of Ahlan's program was so not helpful for beginners and I think it's probably better catered to mote advanced students. I liked the school itself--the location was safe and near a lot of restaurants and the building provided a lot of areas for study. The faculty there were always helpful with my many cultural questions. My host family was also wonderful, but admittedly I hated living in the medina at first because I did not feel safe walking home from school every day. I was not at all prepared for the heckling of the men in the medina. It was an interesting experience, but I think the greatest con was that I felt like I didn't actually learn anything in the classroom. It wasn't until my last day when I felt my teacher finally knew my level, but at that point it didn't matter.

"Good experience, very enlightening"

Margaux Astruc, student from France

I really enjoy my time at Ahlan Morocco, the teachers and administrators were great even though I didn't complete 6 hours class a day in group, I did 3 hours alone a day instead for the same price. The accommodation was okay so as the location, close to many facilities. Overall, a great experience

"Awesome"

Karima Madih, student from Italy

My experience in Morocco was amazing. I had the chance to know the culture and the people more deeply, and meet people from different countries in the school and the apartment I was in. During my classes I had the chance to study with a smart and helpful young teacher, who helped my to improve my Arabic and reach the third level in my last test in just one month. The only thing I did not like was the apartment, which was very noisy and many stuff were broken or not working.

"A very warm school which teaches indeed more than just language."

Jesse Pinas, student from Netherlands

This was the first time I attempted something like this and after some comparison, I picked the school with the most appealing philosophy and which also seemed to have quite some good reviews. When I arrived it turned out I would be the only one in my current level, which was a bit of a disappointment because I thought it would make for less of an experience..
I was wrong with my worries. The school really lives up to their statement/philosophy on their site. The staff were really nice, friendly, funny, professional and flexible. Furthermore, they are outgoing and sociable and they also incorporate the students in this which makes you feel at home quickly.
The school itself is okay but in winter I would recommend bringing warm clothes, cause it has some similarities to a fridge haha. Furthermore it is fine, especially the garden, suitable for some nice tanning while studying.
As far as activities go, there where some which were nice but once there will be more students, there will be also more activities because for now the trips where just in Rabat.
I can heartily recommend it to anybody who wants to learn languages and also wants to learn a thing or two about cultures while having a blast! Especially Aziz, the manager is an excellent storyteller who gives a lot of fun insights.

"It was amazing in Morocco."

Kristina Rabekova, student from Slovakia

My trip to Morocco was really amazing. My teacher was very kind. As for the accommodation, I paid for a shared flat, but I lived with a Moroccan family in their house in Riyadh. Even so, I was happy because they were kind and helpful. Our coordinator, Valentina, wasn’t so helpful. She didn’t tell me that I had to move to the other house become one family had come to Riyadh, but the owner let us in the house. Even so, I would like go back next summer or try a different country.

School location

Rabat is the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco. This ancient imperial city attracts many tourists every year, and Rabat was even named the capital of Arab youth for the year 2016 by the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth.

Living in Morocco will give you the opportunity to study both the Moroccan dialect and Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), but many of the locals speak other languages as well such as English, French, and Spanish.

While studying Arabic in Rabat you will have many opportunities to meet other people and join in cultural activities. The locals are very friendly towards those who try to communicate in Arabic, whether in Fusha or Darija. They are always willing to help students with their Arabic allowing you to quickly improve your vocabulary and practice what you have studied in class.
