"Great classes, incredible teachers, amazing people. I will be back."

Claudia Regina Díaz Pinto, student from Chile

I stayed for three months at FIT campus in a very good bedroom. The toilet was cleaned well except for that one week when the cleaning lady went on a vacation. I didn't like the dinning hall food but there were other options if you want. Very good classes, teachers were responsible, always on time and prepared well for their classes. The management and academic team were very friendly and always willing to help. Every month there was a calendar of activities planned at low cost where you could go and learn a little more about US and practice your English. Great experience. I will be back.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $110 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.

Area Description
ELS/Melbourne is located on the campus of the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) just minutes from Florida's beautiful white-sand beaches. Florida Tech offers a state-of-the-art campus nestled in a tropical garden of flowering plants and palm trees. Many students enjoy weekend visits to Walt Disney World Resorts, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom and Universal Studios. Students may also experience Space Shuttle and rocket launches from nearby NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Area Attractions
Local Beaches and Eco-Tourism
Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens, and other fun parks
NASA's Kennedy Space Center
Palm Beach, Tampa Bay and Miami close enough for possible weekend trips
Brevard County Zoo, Planetarium, Arts & Science Museum, plus other close attractions

Local Transportation
Public transportation is very poor in most of Florida. To visit Orlando, students need a car or must participate in ELS-organized excursions. Many students rent cars and divide the expense.
