The teachers were amazing, I learned so much from them and they all had a lot of patiences. I enjoyed having different teachers, because there was a lot of variety in their ways to teach. The location is fine, was a semi-long drive from Roodeport to Braamfontein. Every last Friday they had a social programm, which was also fun and a very interessting idea.
There is nothing I didn't like about the course.
The school was well-located and had very good facilities. The number of students in my class was good enough to allow us to speak and also for the teacher to pay attention to everyone during lessons. The teachers I met were very kind, involved, and well-prepared, which was important for my studying. The school promoted good extra activities that allowed me to practice more of my speaking and listening, and also gave me an opportunity to exchange experiences and views with my colleagues. What really impressed me were the computer room and programs available for self-access and study, which were very useful for all students to independently study the level.
The homestay was also a good place to stay. I was with a very kind and social family with talkative people, which also helped me lot in my speaking practices.
I did not like the cafeteria and the food served. For instance, during my stay I did not see them selling fruits or juice, which was important for our diet.
My stay in Johannesburg was great. Teachers were great, comprehensive and professional. Classrooms and others facilities were good.
My host family was super and all the members in the family were very nice, respectful and gave me support.
The only thing I didn't like was the hour when I left home. I arrived every day at 6:05 am at school, two hours before the class, and in the afternoon I walked to my host family’s office and waited for them there. I did this for my security; I didn’t have a choice because their house was far from the school.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying English in Johannesburg. These homes are often between 30 - 60 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Learn more about homestay housing
