"Very fun and the kids enjoy practicing and knowing people from other countries"

Alan Renteria , student from Mexico

The school it’s very adaptable and versatile regardless of the English level the kids had before, they had the opportunity to practice and enjoy the clases, and was very helpful for them.

Everything is great only thing it’s we feel insecure outside of the school with to many homeless. Besides that was perfect.

"Friendly but less professional"

Younha Choe, student from USA

In general the school is good. In particular, the teachers are very kind and friendly.
However, the location is not the best for little kind b/c many homeless people are always around the school.
In addition, some facilities such as resting area needs to be maintained well.

Finally, I doubt the class is determined by the age of the students rather than the English level test.

I expect my kids to be able to take classes appropriate to their level of English in the future.

Best Regards,
Ji Eun

"Very improving, good, chill"

Maria José Arizmendi Galvan, student from Mexico

The classes were really good, there were chill, I really learned a lot, my English improved and I’m really happy about it, the teacher was really good and relaxed while giving classes and every other teacher is really nice while talking with you, I had fun while I was in the course, the activities we did were fun, really good for teenagers, in every moment we had something to do.
The location is good, it’s easy to go to the school location, the school is close to a lot of places, it’s really close from a lot of restaurants, the facilities were good, they are in great condition, very clean.
I did not stay with a host family because of my gluten intolerance, so I can’t give you my opinion about it.
I liked everything, there is nothing that I have not liked, everything is really good prepared, everyone is doing a great, everyone was nice while I was there, I also liked that I made friends while I was in the course and that was good cause I wanted to make new friends, I laughed a lot with them, I had a lot of fun with them.
I liked this course so much that I am trying to see with my parents if next year I am going to this course but in Canada.

"I can praise, encourage, scold, apologize and explain my thoughts in English!"

Sofiia Tankova, student from Russia

Well, I had great fun and it was a cool adventure (and it wasn’t just for 13 year old girls). I found new friends and made a lot of impressions. They were able to change how I pronounced words, to enhance my level of English, and to find me friends and inspiration.

I stayed at a beautiful home with a wonderful family, where I was accepted as a native. The conditions were just gorgeous. There were two downsides though: First, I really really missed my family, but that wasn’t the school’s responsibility. Second were the activities. I can't say they weren’t fun, but everything should be in moderation! We walked mostly in shopping centers, and it was quite exhausting.. But that's not important. The benefits were greater. I am very grateful to you and Jamie!

"Children who would like to improve their English, especially speaking, should consider this course."

Arda Baykara, student from Turkey

The SDSU campus and classes are comfortable. Teachers are friendly, funny and helpful. Location is perfect in terms of convenience. Facilities of the university are attractive. Activities are fun.
But on the other hand, there are some enhancements needed especially in the management area.

"Fun and interesting"

Maria Fernanda Diaz Maciel, student from Mexico

I liked the classes, but sometimes other students that didn't seemed to be very interested distracted the class. The teacher was good. Location was excellent (the SDSU) and the facilities were good. I didn't take the activities or housing.

Maria Fernanda's father’s opinion: The school, the teachers and the facilities were very good. We didn't take the activities or housing because the whole family went to San Diego for the complete period of time of the course. What I would have liked? I would have appreciated if the school had some apartment options for rent. It would have saved me time and effort. I would also have liked if there was a final English evaluation just to see the level of improvement of Maria Fernanda after the course.
In general everything was ok, and I was happy to see my daughter happy with her English classes.
Many thanks to the LSI team.

Note: The overall rating and the rest of the ratings for LSI were done by Maria Fernanda.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.

Ask a question

"As part of the Junior program, can a strudent take the course without activities? Or can they select a small number of activities?"

seda emci, student from Turkey

As part of the 7-12 year-old Junior Program, it would be difficult to
reserve the space required for them on a week-by-week basis. This is because
the parent or guardian (or, if necessary, another member of our staff) will
oftentimes accompany them. With that said, it is possible to take weekend
tours as they come, but we cannot guarantee placement on the tour. For
example, if they come to the office during the week and decide to take a
Saturday tour, we may or may not have space available because of groups that
have already reserved a seat at the time of booking their course. With the
weekly activities it would not be possible to choose and pay for select ones
because of the time and planning that goes into them.
