Proyecto Español is a language school, that specializes in Spanish for foreigners, with academies across Spain. Their goal is to teach the Spanish language and culture and to provide great experiences at reasonable prices. Proyecto Español Barcelona is an excellent school located in the heart of one of the most fashionable cities in Europe. While studying in Barcelona students are encouraged to partake in activities that get them out into the city and conversing in the local dialect to help them better master the nuances of the Spanish language.
The nationality and age mix at Proyecto Español: Barcelona varies over different time periods, courses and levels.
Proyecto Español does not hold classes on the holiday dates below. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.

I am unfortunately quite unhappy with my overall experience with Proyecto Español. Although some of the staff were friendly with a good demeanour, some of the teachers seemed a little burnt out and disinterested. I was put in what I think was the right class for my level, good start, but later asked to change to a lower level, not because it was too hard but simply because I did not like the teacher or his methods and thought it would be best if I just change classes rather than cause problems. I was not the only person that was unhappy with this teacher. After spending some time in a lower class with some good teachers, who´s methods I liked, I returned to my original level with the same teacher. I had no choice. I paid for the DELE preparation course and had my course broken up into two categories. Normal classes for I think it was three hours a day, followed by a second class for one hour to prepare me for my exam. I went into the course planning on doing the B2 DELE exam but was advised to go for the B1 exam. I felt that I was not and would not be ready in time to pass the B1 exam. Basically I had a conversation with the teacher and she told my level would be good enough for the B1 exam with some lessons and studying. I don't think this was an adequate appraisal of my ability, one conversation. I studied every day and did mock exams leading up to it, most of which I either failed or just passed and went into the exam of coarse very unconfident. Inevitably I failed the exam. I was emailed a mock exam to test my ability prior to starting the course. The exam itself had errors in it!! which even I picked up with my limited Spanish. I showed them to the staff at Kingsbrook and they said they were supposed to already have been corrected. They were fairly basic errors in questions that affected the entire outcome of the test. I don't want to say my entire experience at Proyecto Español or Kingsbrook or whoever I did my course with was totally bad. I met lots of interesting people and vastly improved my Spanish. But truth be told if I had to do it over again I would probably choose a different school.

I have no words but words of gratitude to the school and service itself. I still have a residue of disappointment: my course lasted four weeks and there was a mandatory rotation of teachers in our group during the whole period that, in my opinion, interfere with progress and did not allow the teacher to choose the optimal program to work at the individual level as well as level of the whole group.

I feel that the grammer classes are quite good while the conversation classes were a bit less stimulating unless you had a good group. It really depended on the other students in the class. I ended up switching out of the conversation classes and started private lessons which were excellent.
I have had many teachers but some of my favorites were pilar, Josefina, Rochel, and Ricardo.
The location of the school is great because it is very accessable and in a safe, clean part of town.
I did not attend many of the school activities but they do have good reccomendations.
The housing situation was good because I was close to the school and in a nice part of town but I constantly had to deal with drama in the house because I lived with 6 plus people, it changed week to week, and no one ever did their dishes. I would say this was the worst part of my experience but not bad becaue the owner of the house had me over for dinner many times and i met incredible people from all over the world.
