Santiago de Compostela is a beautiful city located on the northwest coast of Spain. It is the capital city of Galicia and the burial place of the St. James. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is a gorgeous spectacle filled with many different styles of architecture, and St. James' tomb is said to be buried underneath the cathedral. The climate of Santiago is typical for the area; it has wet winters and warm, beach worthy summers. Santiago's Old Town is a World Heritage site, and is filled with narrow winding streets lined with historic buildings. The famous University of Santiago de Compostela is also a site worth visiting, especially for students interested in studying Spanish courses in Santiago de Compostela; it has roots dating back to 1495. Visitors will also enjoy visiting Praza do Obradoiro, the lively heart of the city. Since the city is fairly small, it is quite easily walkable, and the sights and people you encounter along your strolls will help strengthen your appreciation for this lovely little city as you begin to perfect your skills at a Spanish school in Santiago de Compostela along the way.
