English courses for beginners in Victoria are for students who have never studied English. This course is ideal for students who know very little to no English. It is for students who only know a few English words, such as 'hello', 'thank you', and 'goodbye'.

One-on-one lessons will allow students to learn at their own speed and study the content of their choice. Lesson schedules are variable and dependent on teacher/classroom availability.
General English Program:
Covers grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening, for learners of all levels.
Full Time
General English: 21 hours per week
Grammar, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening
Monday to Thursday: 9 am to 2:00 pm
Friday: 9 am to 12 pm
Part-Time AM
Morning General English: 15 hours per week
Grammar, Reading and Writing
Part-Time PM
Afternoon General English: 6 hours per week

Preparing for University or College demands a high level of academic English. This involves developing overall English skills with a strong emphasis on academic reading and writing, as well as note-taking, research and study skills.
SSLC offers 2 different ways of learning English to suit individual learning styles and maximize learning outcomes. Also students can choose certain hours per week that they want to study (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 hours per week)

High School Academic Preparation is a program designed to help prepare students to meet academic challenges they will face in Canadian high schools. The program includes academic writing, grammar review, academic speaking and listening, academic study skills, presentation skills, and research skills.
