More about studying in Duisburg »
With the largest inland harbor in the world, Duisburg's hustle-and-bustle provides the perfect backdrop for students looking to immerse themselves into urban German culture. Register for German courses in Duisburg to discover why this city is an ideal place to begin or continue your language education. Duisburg is famous for three things: its harbor, the famous König brewery, and the massive University of Duisburg-Essen. Learn about the city's maritime history – and practice your German – at the German Inland Waterways Museum. Because of the university's presence in the city, students improving and perfecting their German here will blend right into Duisburg's strong academic tradition. While students at a German school in Duisburg can experience König's beloved Pilsener at any of the local bars, touring the factory is an even better way to get a taste of this local product. Of course, there is much more to Duisburg than its three main attractions – this city offers all the entertainment and amenities you'd expect to find in a major city. Head over to the Königstrasse and attend a performance at either of the two major theaters located there. Enjoy the "whalarium," among numerous other animal displays, at the Duisburg Zoo. Whether you want to enjoy an outdoor movie at the Stadtwerke Summer Cinema or dance the night away at one of its famous discos, Duisberg makes an excellent site for your German education.
